Robotech Valkyrie: Day 11 Hours 12:48


Another week of Building the Veritech Fighter, and it's a little more complicated than I thought it would be. The basic shape of the plane is there, but I have to make sure it's broken up in their appropriate sections. My plan is to have it fly around throughout explosions and then physically convert into the Robot mode.


One of the first things that I noticed wrong was the Nose Cone section. I originally used a cube and realized that I should have used a cylinder. Once I replaced it, it looked a hell of a lot better. After that, I noticed it doesn't have landing gear. I searched the web and found additional images of the landing gear, cutaways, and of the Robot version.


It was at this point when I realized I'm not sure how much detail should I put into it. Not that I don't want to spend the time making it look good, but there is a time limit and I'm not sure all that I want to do. I can keep going by making sure that the section I'm aware of, are cleaned up and the UV Seems are marked.


I did a test of the sections by moving them and converting them into the Robotic Mech. It's not the prettiest thing around, but it's fair proof of concept.


Because I'm not sure all that I want to do, I'm taking a small break from building the Fighter. I'm going to create a series of storyboards, so I can figure out what the hell I want to do.


In addition, I'm working on updating my website. I know it should be simple, but I want to make sure all my work is on display.
