I'm back. Back on my own computer, back at my daily job, and back in a world I'm familiar with. Thailand is a wonderful country, with wonderful people, but not being able to speak or read the language puts a damper on being able to go out on my own without the wife and kids. Not to mention, the heat and humidity makes it difficult to focus and work out when I wanted to.
After my last post, I was mildly productive. We had less than a week left of our vacation, so our family was constantly doing last minute shopping and packing while our friends and extended family were always gathered around to spend time with us before we leave. During this time. I looked at how cybernetics would connect/combine on a person. For example. the eye is cybernetic and it fits into a metal socket. While the socket may be solid and unmovable, it still needs to merge with the skin seamlessly or else it looks like part of a costume. The problem I have with the cybernetic arm is that it's not connected to the body. My original idea seemed more organic, but for this I wanted the arm more practical. This new "Practical" arm looks great, but next to the subjects. Then I remembered that some prosthetic arms are connected by a shoulder harness that is strapped across their chest. This seems the most realistic and fitting for the character, but instead of being strapped, I think I will have it graphed onto it's skin.
On Sunday, we returned to the United States. A really long flight, where I was actually able to work on my most recent project. The seats were small and I felt like I was working in a closet, but I was able to get a few things done.
On the flight, I created the shoulder harness for the cyber-arm. The conditions of our flight was pretty tight and bumpy, so I did not go into detail.
Home, was a different matter. I transferred everything onto the PC, and decided that I need to show the secret project to the intended person. This is a great project, I'm learning a lot from it, but I need direction.
Finally, this entry is a day late. I may be fine throughout the day, but I'm tired due to the time difference. My mind can't focus more than forty-five minutes. If as I'm typing this the fourth time I'm falling asleep.
